Bathe your pastoral prayers in the deeper streams of faith.
Book of Common Worship
(Westminster John Knox, 1993)

Blessed are you, Lord our God,
creator and redeemer of all;
to you be glory and praise forever.
From the waters of chaos you drew forth the world
and in your great love fashioned us in your image.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God for ever.

We are cold and dull, but by you are we set ablaze.

by Stephen Fortosis (Kregel, 2001)

To give and not count the cost;
To fight and not heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not ask for reward—
Save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
  —Ignatius of Loyola

The Oxford Book of Prayer
edited by George Appleton (Oxford University, 1989)

Open to us, Lord, your great door. O Fountain of all mercy, hear our prayer   and save our souls. Shine upon me, Lord, and I shall be light like the day; I will sing ...
